Virgin Coconut Oil

Virgin Coconut Oil

Virgin coconut oil is the workhorse of natural oils. It's cold-pressed from the fresh coconut kernel – that's what makes it "virgin," and what preserves its characteristic fresh coconut scent and its rich profile of medium-chain fatty acids, led by lauric acid. That composition is behind everything people love about it: it's deeply moisturising, fast-conditioning, and long-lasting on the shelf.

It's especially prized in hair care, where it's one of the few oils genuinely shown to penetrate the hair shaft and reduce protein loss – the reason it's such a treasured pre-wash and conditioning oil. A quick, honest note: virgin coconut oil is semi-solid below about 24°C (it melts on contact with warm skin), and it's comedogenic – wonderful for hair and body, but not the best choice on acne-prone facial skin. Supplied from 100 ML to 10 KG, with COA and MSDS, from Raasa Oils – for external use.

Virgin Coconut Oil Benefits

Rich in Lauric Acid

Virgin coconut oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconut kernel, which keeps its characteristic fresh scent and its rich profile of medium-chain fatty acids – around half lauric acid, plus caprylic and capric. That MCT-rich composition is what gives it its fast-absorbing, deeply moisturising, conditioning character.

Hair-Conditioning Oil

Coconut oil is one of the few oils genuinely shown to penetrate the hair shaft and reduce protein loss – which is why it's such a treasured pre-wash and conditioning oil. Massaged through the lengths, it leaves hair softer, smoother, and more manageable, and helps guard against everyday breakage.

Moisturising Skin

Virgin coconut oil is a fast, deeply moisturising body oil, melting on contact to leave skin soft and conditioned. Rich in fatty acids, it helps support the skin's moisture barrier and reduce water loss – a comforting, nourishing staple in body oils, balms, and creams (best for the body rather than acne-prone faces).

Cosmetic Base

Virgin coconut oil is a workhorse base across natural cosmetics – a classic carrier for hair oils (including Ayurvedic blends), body butters, balms, soaps, and scrubs. Its stability, mild scent, and melt-on-skin texture make it one of the most versatile, widely used oils in natural formulation.

Virgin Coconut Oil Uses

Hair Care Products

Virgin coconut oil is a cornerstone of hair care, valued for its proven ability to penetrate the hair shaft and reduce protein loss. It's used in hair oils, masks, and pre-wash treatments to condition the scalp and hair, reduce everyday breakage, and leave hair softer, smoother, and more manageable.

Skincare Products

Virgin coconut oil is used in body oils, balms, creams, lotions, and scrubs for its deeply moisturising, melt-on-skin character. It conditions and softens the skin and helps support the moisture barrier – a comforting, widely loved staple in body and hand-care formulations (best suited to body rather than acne-prone faces).

Soap Formulations

Coconut oil is a classic soap and surfactant feedstock – its lauric acid gives handmade soaps their hard bar and rich lather, and it's the source of many coconut-derived cleansing ingredients. It's a staple base in natural soaps, cleansers, and body washes for its foaming, cleansing character.

Cosmetic Products

Beyond finished cosmetics, virgin coconut oil is a versatile base and carrier – used in balms, butters, and blends, and as a stable carrier for oil-soluble ingredients in formulations. Its consistency, mild scent, and long shelf life make it a dependable workhorse across natural product manufacturing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Virgin coconut oil is cold-pressed from fresh coconut kernel, keeping its natural fresh scent and its full fatty-acid profile. Regular coconut oil is usually refined (RBD), which removes the scent and some character. Virgin is the choice for natural, aroma-retaining formulations.

It's fantastic for hair and body, but it's comedogenic (~4) – it can clog pores and worsen breakouts for acne-prone skin. If your skin is oily or breakout-prone, use it on hair and body, and patch test before facial use.

That's normal – VCO is semi-solid below about 24°C and melts to a clear liquid when warm. It doesn't affect quality; just warm the container gently to liquefy.

Coconut oil is one of the few oils proven to penetrate the hair shaft and reduce protein loss, which is why it's such a treasured pre-wash and conditioning oil – leaving hair softer, smoother, and less prone to everyday breakage.

This is sold as a cosmetic-grade oil for external use only. (Real VCO can be food-grade, but an edible product is separately FSSAI-licensed – this cosmetic grade isn't intended for consumption.)

Yes. As a supplier, bulk distributor, and wholesaler, we offer 100 ML up to 10 KG (and larger on request) at wholesale pricing, with COA and MSDS available. For bulk and export enquiries, contact our team directly.
