Thyme Liquid Extract

Thyme Liquid Extract

Thyme Liquid Extract is a cosmetic-grade herbal extract prepared from the leaves of Thymus vulgaris, the familiar garden thyme, for use in skincare, hair care and cleansing formulations. Raasa Oils offers it in two grades – a colourless, odourless water-soluble version for water-based products, and a sesame-based oil-soluble version for oil-based products – so you can work thyme into almost any formula, water or oil-based.

It carries thyme's naturally occurring constituents, including thymol, carvacrol, rosmarinic acid, flavonoids and tannins, and lends a clean, fresh herbal character to cleansers, toners, scalp serums, hair rinses, soaps and herbal cosmetics. Used at a low rate, typically one to ten per cent, it blends smoothly without dominating a formula's texture or fragrance. Supplied from 100 ml samples to 10 kg bulk with COA, MSDS and TDS available on request, it gives formulators and brands a dependable, recognisable herb extract for botanical and apothecary-style ranges.

Thyme Liquid Extract Benefits

One Botanical

Thyme Liquid Extract comes in both water-soluble and oil-soluble grades, so it fits whichever base you are working in. Choose the colourless, odourless water-soluble version for toners, cleansers and gels, or the sesame-based oil-soluble version for serums, balms and oil blends – one botanical that covers an entire product range.

Herbal Substance

Thyme is one of the best-known herbs in the world, and this extract carries its naturally occurring constituents – thymol, carvacrol, rosmarinic acid, flavonoids and tannins. That gives formulators a recognisable, credible botanical to build around, with a Certificate of Analysis available so you know exactly what is in every batch.

Fresh Herbal Feel

Thyme Liquid Extract lends products a clean, fresh, herbaceous character that leaves skin and scalp feeling comfortable and refreshed. It suits everyday cleansers, toners and scalp treatments where a light, tidy, well-groomed finish is the goal, rather than a rich or heavy one, and it works well year-round in rinse-off and leave-on products.

Easy to Formulate

Added at roughly one to ten per cent, Thyme Liquid Extract blends smoothly into a formula without altering its viscosity, colour or fragrance structure. The water-soluble grade slips invisibly into the water phase, while the oil-soluble grade disperses cleanly in oils – making it straightforward at both small-batch and production scale.

Hair Care Products

Skincare Products

Thyme Liquid Extract works well in face washes, toners, gels, serums and creams, adding a clean herbal character and a fresh, comfortable skin feel. Its familiar botanical name and honest phytochemistry make it a natural fit for herbal, apothecary-style and clean-beauty ranges built on plant ingredients customers can actually name.

Hair Care Products

In hair care, Thyme Liquid Extract is used in shampoos, scalp toners, hair rinses and leave-in mists, where it leaves the scalp feeling clean, light and refreshed after washing. Both grades work here – water-soluble for rinses and shampoos, oil-soluble for scalp oils, pre-wash treatments and leave-on hair and scalp serums.

Bath Products

Thyme Liquid Extract suits handmade and commercial soaps, body washes, bath gels and herbal cleansing bars, adding a crisp herbal note and a clean-feeling finish. It integrates easily into melt-and-pour and liquid soap bases at small-batch or production scale, making it popular in natural, herbal and apothecary-style soap and bath lines.

Cosmetic Products

Beyond skincare and haircare, Thyme Liquid Extract features in lotions, setting mists, pre-makeup preparations and herbal-infused body products. It pairs comfortably with other plant extracts and hydrosols, letting brands build layered botanical formulas around a herb customers already know from the kitchen shelf, which makes an ingredient list easy to explain.

Disclaimer

Thyme Liquid Extract is a concentrated cosmetic ingredient for external formulation use only — not for neat application or ingestion. Add it at a low use rate, around 1–10%, into a finished product, and patch-test the final formula. Choose the water-soluble or oil-soluble grade to suit your base.

Caution
