Moringa Oil

Moringa Oil

Moringa oil is one of India's quiet superstar carrier oils. Cold-pressed from the seeds of Moringa oleifera – the drumstick tree that grows across the subcontinent – it's traditionally called "Ben oil," after its unusually high content of behenic acid. That behenic acid, along with a very high level of oleic acid, is what makes moringa special.

It's one of the most oxidatively stable plant oils there is, with a genuinely long shelf life, yet it stays light and non-greasy on the skin. Add its natural vitamin E, and you have a conditioning, fast-absorbing oil that dry and mature skin – and hair – genuinely love. India is the world's largest producer of moringa, so this is about as authentic and close to the source as the oil gets. A carrier oil for external cosmetic use — used neat or in blends. Supplied from 100 ML to 10 KG, with COA and MSDS, from Raasa Oils.

Moringa Oil Benefits

High-Oleic

Moringa oil – traditionally called Ben oil – is one of the most stable carrier oils in nature. It's very high in oleic acid, with a signature behenic-acid content (the "ben" it's named for) that gives it exceptional oxidative stability and a genuinely long shelf life – making it a dependable, low-maintenance base oil for skincare and haircare formulators.

Lightweight

Despite being rich and nourishing, moringa oil has a surprisingly light, non-greasy texture that absorbs quickly into the skin. With a low-to-moderate comedogenic rating, it suits most skin types, including dry and mature skin, working as a fast-absorbing facial and body oil that conditions and softens without leaving a heavy, oily residue behind.

Conditioning Dry Skin

Moringa oil's high oleic-acid content gives it a soft, conditioning, replenishing feel that dry and mature skin genuinely loves. Naturally rich in vitamin E, it helps a formulation feel nourishing and comfortable, supporting soft, smooth, healthy-looking skin. It's a much-loved facial-oil and moisturiser ingredient in premium, natural, hydration-focused skincare ranges.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Moringa Oil is gentle and suitable for sensitive skin. However, a patch test is recommended before use to ensure compatibility with your skin type. After its unusually high content of behenic acid — the "ben" in Ben oil. That behenic acid, plus a very high oleic-acid level, gives moringa oil its exceptional oxidative stability and long shelf life, which is one of its biggest advantages as a formulation base.

It's a carrier oil, so no – it's used neat on skin and hair, or as a base you dilute essential oils into. It's light, fast-absorbing, and suits most skin types.

It's lightweight with a low-to-moderate comedogenic rating (~2–3), so it's a popular facial oil for dry and mature skin. As always, patch test first if your skin is reactive or acne-prone.

Very high oleic acid (omega-9, ~70%+), signature behenic acid, plus palmitic and stearic, with naturally occurring vitamin E – the profile behind its stable, conditioning, long-lasting character.

Keep it in a cool, dark place, tightly sealed. It's one of the more stable oils thanks to its high oleic/behenic content, but cool, dark storage still preserves it best.
