Marigold Fragrance Oil

The scent is sweet and sunny with a fresh green note underneath — the smell of a marigold garland rather than a generic floral. It is warm without being heavy, and it is instantly recognisable to Indian customers in a way that almost no other floral in the range manages.

Blended into a body mist or a lotion, it leaves the skin smelling lightly of flowers without any of the sweetness that makes most floral products cloying. The scent settles within a minute or two and stays close, so it never competes with whatever else you happen to be wearing.

In a hair mist or a linen spray, the scent lingers exactly where you leave it. Hair carries it right through a whole day, and clothes keep it between washes, so marigold quietly follows you the way a garland does rather than announcing itself and then fading within the hour.

Marigold holds far longer on skin and on fabric than most florals do. It is still recognisable hours after you put it on, and a scarf or a pillowcase keeps it between washes, which means less reapplying and a scent that becomes yours rather than something you keep topping up.

Marigold performs across soy, paraffin, coconut and blended waxes, with good cold and hot throw and a clean pour that does not cloud a container. It suits festive, seasonal and gifting ranges particularly well, and it layers very comfortably with sandalwood, vanilla and citrus for fuller Diwali and wedding-season compositions.

It holds through cold-process, hot-process and melt-and-pour bases and right through the full cure, keeping its bright floral character in bases where lighter accords simply disappear altogether. It behaves predictably at trace without seizing or ricing at all, which is precisely what separates a workable soap fragrance from a thoroughly frustrating one.

Room sprays, reed diffusers, wax melts, incense sticks and household surface cleaners all take marigold extremely well. It reads as fresh and clean rather than heavily perfumed, which suits everyday household formats very well, and it carries no colour at all that could possibly mark a surface or a fabric.

Body mists, solid perfumes, lotions, creams and bath products all use marigold at the standard fragrance levels within the published IFRA limits. It blends readily with jasmine, rose, sandalwood, lavender and citrus oils, and it gives an Indian-facing range a floral signature that customers recognise the moment they smell it.
