Frangipani Hydrosol

Frangipani Hydrosol

Frangipani Hydrosol is the aromatic water collected during the hydro-distillation of Plumeria flowers — the tropical white bloom planted at temples right across India, where it is known as champa or the temple tree. It is a genuinely uncommon product. Rose, lavender and chamomile waters are everywhere; a frangipani hydrosol is offered by very few suppliers anywhere in the world, and by almost none in India.

The scent is sweet, creamy and unmistakably tropical, far closer to a white floral perfume than to the fresh green character most hydrosols carry, and it lingers gently on skin rather than fading within minutes. Because it is the water phase of distillation rather than a concentrate, it is mild enough to mist straight onto clean skin with no dilution needed at all. Raasa Oils supplies it in five sizes, from 100 ml bottles through to 10 kg bulk, with full documentation on request.

Frangipani Hydrosol Benefits

Sweet Tropical Aroma

The scent is creamy, sweet and unmistakably tropical — a true white floral rather than the fresh green character that most aromatic waters carry. It reads as a holiday rather than a garden, and it is different enough from rose or lavender that people notice it and ask what it is.

Face Mist & Toner

Misted over the face after cleansing, it goes on cool and dries within seconds, leaving no film at all and nothing to wipe away. It sits comfortably under a moisturiser or over makeup, and the scent settles quickly rather than competing with whatever perfume you might happen to be wearing.

Hair & Body Mist

A few sprays through the hair or across the shoulders leaves a soft tropical scent that lasts a couple of hours. It is alcohol-free so it will not dry out the hair, it leaves no stickiness behind on skin, and it will not stain a collar or mark a light-coloured shirt.

Ready to Use Neat

Unlike a concentrate, this hydrosol needs no dilution and no carrier at all. It is the water phase of distillation, carrying only trace aromatics, which is what makes it gentle enough to spray straight from the bottle onto clean skin as often through the course of a day as you like.

Frangipani Hydrosol Uses

Facial Toners & Mists

Toners, facial mists and post-cleanse sprays all take frangipani hydrosol well, where the sweet tropical character gives a range a scent signature quite unlike the rose and lavender waters that fill the category. It blends readily with jasmine, neroli, rose and ylang ylang hydrosols in more or less any proportion you like.

Natural Perfumery

Alcohol-free body sprays, hair mists and layering waters use frangipani for a white floral note at a fraction of what an absolute would cost. Its scent is soft rather than sharp, which makes it usable as a base for a composition or as a finished product in its own right.

Spa & Body Care

Body mists, cooling sprays, bath products and treatment-room linen sprays all carry the frangipani character very well indeed. Spa brands use it for a tropical signature that reads as considered rather than generic, and its water base means it disperses evenly right through any aqueous system without needing a solubiliser at all.

Cosmetic Products

As a water-phase ingredient, frangipani hydrosol replaces part or all of the aqua in creams, lotions, gels, sheet masks and cleansing wipes, adding both scent and a genuine botanical provenance to the formulation. Batch aroma stays entirely consistent, and full COA, MSDS and TDS documentation supports all your own labelling requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. It is the water phase of distillation, not a concentrate, and requires no dilution. Mist it straight onto clean skin as a toner or refresher. Patch test before first use, as with any new product.

No — and that is the point. Very few suppliers anywhere offer one, and almost none in India. If you want a floral water your competitors cannot easily source, this is it.

Yes. Nothing is added to this bottle, and every water-containing cosmetic requires its own broad-spectrum preservative system regardless of what proportion of the water phase the hydrosol represents. Refrigerate this product after opening.

Yes. It combines readily with jasmine, neroli, rose and ylang ylang hydrosols in any proportion, since all are water-based and will not separate.

No. This is the water phase of distillation, mild and used neat. Frangipani's natural concentrate is an absolute produced by solvent extraction, which is a very different and far more expensive material.
