Frangipani Essential Oil

In a diffuser, it fills a room with a warm, creamy tropical floral – sweet and honeyed rather than fresh or sharp. It is the smell of the flower on a warm evening, and it is different enough from citrus or lavender that anyone walking in notices it and asks what it is.

Blended into a carrier oil, it leaves the skin smelling of flowers long after the oil itself has absorbed. There is no heaviness at all and no greasy residue – just a warm floral trace that comes back to you through the day whenever you move or your skin warms.

Added to a hair oil, it gives hair a rich floral scent that stays all day and lingers even after washing. The scent moves as the hair moves, which is why scented hair oils have always been worn in India, and it is far softer than a perfume sprayed on.

Worn as a diluted perfume on the pulse points, it warms and deepens over the first half hour rather than fading away. What starts out sweet settles into something creamier and rounder as it goes, and it is still there at the end of an evening with no need to reapply.

Frangipani sits as a heart note within white floral and oriental compositions, blending readily alongside jasmine, ylang ylang, sandalwood, rose and warm vanilla. It is used in very small proportions, where it supplies a creamy tropical depth that is genuinely difficult to build up from any other combination of materials.

Champa is a long-established note within Indian attar and traditional perfumery, and this oil sits very naturally alongside sandalwood, oud and rose within that same idiom. It suits alcohol-free attars, solid perfumes, ittar blends and traditional compositions aimed squarely at customers who already recognise the flower by its own name.

Facial oils, serums, balms and premium body oils all use frangipani at low percentages for a scent that quietly signals luxury without any added perfume. It disperses cleanly into an oil phase, and its sheer depth means a very small quantity is enough to carry the scent of an entire formulation.

Massage bases, body oils and treatment-room blends all use frangipani for a warm tropical signature that clearly distinguishes a spa menu. Diluted into a carrier at the usual rate, it holds its scent right through a full treatment, and it pairs particularly well with both sandalwood and ylang ylang.
