Bergamot Liquid Extract

Bergamot Liquid Extract

Bergamot Liquid Extract captures one of the most loved aromas in all of perfumery – the fresh, sparkling, subtly floral citrus of Citrus bergamia, the bergamot that gives Earl Grey tea its signature scent. Cool, uplifting, and unmistakably bright, it brings a premium citrus character and a genuine oil-balancing feel to modern skincare, haircare, and fragrance. Valued as a scent-and-clarifying active, bergamot suits fresh, energising formulations – toners, cleansers, body washes, hair rinses, and fine fragrance – helping oily or combination skin and scalp feel clean, clarified, and balanced, and giving any product a crisp, sophisticated citrus lift.

Important – bergamot peel is phototoxic. Unless you're using a bergapten-free (FCF) grade, avoid sun exposure on treated skin and observe IFRA leave-on limits. This is the opposite of bergamot hydrosol, which is non-phototoxic. Offered in two forms: a water-soluble grade (water-based) for toners, mists, and gels, and an oil-soluble grade (sesame-oil-based) for facial oils, balms, and perfume bases. Added at ~1–2%, it's a cosmetic-grade ingredient for external use only – not for consumption or flavouring. Supplied 100 ML to 10 KG with COA, MSDS, and TDS, from Raasa Oils.

Bergamot Liquid Extract Benefits

Uplifting Scent

Bergamot is one of perfumery's most treasured citrus notes – fresh, sparkling, and subtly floral, the aroma behind Earl Grey tea and countless fine fragrances. This extract brings that crisp, sophisticated, uplifting scent to skincare, haircare, and fragrance, giving fresh, energising, citrus-forward products a genuinely premium and instantly recognisable character.

Oil-Balancing Skin

Bergamot has a naturally clarifying, astringent-feeling character that suits oily and combination skin. Added to toners, cleansers, and mists, it helps skin feel clean, fresh, and balanced, and leaves a bright, refreshed finish – a crisp citrus active for clarifying, mattifying-feel, and everyday freshness-focused skincare across water- and oil-based systems.

Refreshing Scalp

Bergamot brings its fresh scent and clarifying feel to hair and scalp care. In shampoos, clarifying rinses, and scalp refreshers, it helps regulate the feel of excess oil and buildup, leaving hair looking clean, light, and refreshed and the scalp feeling balanced – a bright, uplifting citrus note for clarifying, freshness-focused hair care.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's the fresh, uplifting "Earl Grey" citrus of bergamot (Citrus bergamia) as a scent-and-clarifying active — used in fresh, clarifying skincare, balancing scalp care, and fine fragrance. It brings a crisp, sophisticated citrus aroma and an oil-balancing feel to toners, cleansers, hair products, perfumes, and soaps.

Bergamot peel is phototoxic — it contains bergapten and furanocoumarins that can cause burns and dark patches on sun-exposed skin. Unless the grade is bergapten-free (FCF), keep it out of leave-on products on sun-exposed skin, use it in rinse-off products, or stay within IFRA leave-on limits and avoid sun after application. (Bergamot hydrosol, by contrast, is non-phototoxic.)

No, this is cosmetic grade and for external use only. Despite bergamot's link to Earl Grey tea, this extract is not for consumption or flavouring. For a food use, a separate food-grade material and the appropriate approvals are required.

The water-soluble grade is water-based and blends into aqueous products (toners, mists, gels); the oil-soluble grade is sesame-oil-based and blends into oils, balms, and perfume bases. Choose whichever matches your formulation.

Yes, the oil-soluble grade is sesame-based, so anyone with a sesame allergy should choose the water-soluble grade or seek advice. Bergamot also contains natural fragrance allergens (linalool, limonene). Always patch test finished products.

Yes, as a supplier, bulk distributor, and wholesaler, we offer 100 ML up to 10 KG (and larger on request) at wholesale pricing, in either grade, with COA, MSDS, and TDS — including bergapten/furanocoumarin data. For bulk, private-label, and export enquiries, contact our team directly.
