Basil Hydrosol

Basil Hydrosol is the herb water of Ocimum basilicum – sweet basil, the culinary herb, not tulsi. Steam-distil its fresh leaves and flowering tops, and the water that comes off carries basil's fresh, green, sweet-herbal scent: crisp and clean, like the plant straight from the garden. It is a leaf-and-herb water, distilled from the herb, not a floral one.

On skin, it is a light, mildly astringent toning water – a fresh, matte finish that suits oily and combination skin, and a crisp green scent that sets it apart from the sweet florals and fruits. Being water-based, it is kept fresh with sodium benzoate at up to 1.5%, stated plainly on the label.
